Yohji Yamamoto Refresh Dr Martens’ 1460 Remastered Series
words by angelyn
Japanese designer, Yohji Yamamoto, is collaborating with Dr. Martens for the fourth time ever to present his take on the Dr Martens’ 1460 remastered series. The Y-3 founder was the first to introduce the combat boot down the runway in the early 2000s and was also the first-ever designer to collaborate with the brand. Now, the English footwear brand is celebrating its 60th anniversary and the duo is here to celebrate by giving the 1460 an update: the 1460 YY Web boot.
Yamamoto has crafted the boot from Smooth Splice leather and incorporated his iconic spider web print to the black leather boots. If the spider theme is not obvious enough, the laces wound into a decorative antique spider designed specially for the boot. The boot finishes off with yellow stitch detailing, gold top eyelets and an embossment of his signature into the leather tongue. Priced at $810 a pair, the collab will be available to shop in strictly limited numbers on April 25, 2020, on drmartens.com and select partners.
