Nike Quietly Debuts New Kobe Bryant Shoe

In the midst of the global pandemic, Nike Basketball has quietly debuted Kobe Bryant’s first signature shoe since his sudden passing earlier this year. Named, the Mamba Fury, it’s a new takedown model akin to the likes of the Mamba Instinct and Mamba Rage. The new silhouette follows in the footsteps of its predecessors with a sleek and technical look, made familiar by other models in the Laker legend’s Nike line. All at a lower price point.

Appearing in a “Black/Red” with a marbled yellow outsole, a classic “Black/White” and a sleek “White/Silver”, each with a sunken plastic swoosh on the midsole. Each shoe features a scale-like mesh upper, with Kobe’s signature logo on the tongue. Borrowing design nodes from Kobe 6 and 8, the shoe is shaped to mimic those classics with other additions coming in the shape of a heel spoiler that looked like it came from the Kobe A.D line and a forefront Zoom Air Unit.

More details of the shoes will be released in time but if the online fanfare of Kobe’s legacy is anything to go by, the shoe will receive a manic reception at its official launch.
