Études Pays Tribute To Keith Haring With Second Collection
words by claudia
Paris-based contemporary menswear brand, Etudes announces its second collaboration featuring art of the iconic New York artist, Keith Haring. Haring is recognised as a popular artist and one of the biggest activists for the AIDS movement back in the 1980s, having used his art to create awareness for safe sex practices while addressing the ignorance and homophobia that exacerbated the epidemic.
A reminder of Haring’s distinctive painting outfits births the reimagined trousers from Études Studio’s Spring/Summer 2020 collection. The brand pays homage to the artist’s energy by incorporating his powerfully joyful art onto their collection consisting of the artist’s signature rhythmic symbols embroidered onto caps, white button-ups and denim jackets.
And as the proverbial cherry-on-top, the brand invited Haring’s friend and D.J. Justin Strauss to create a playlist in remembrance of the late pop artist. You can listen to Justin’s “imagined night in New York in 1984” exclusively on Études Studio’s Soundcloud.
